Dear New Member, WELCOME to BBWNorthwest! To make sure you have the most fun as a member, please take a few moments to read this "quick start" guide. 1. Confirm your shop settings! When you joined you chose to receive each post as an individual mail or a digest with all the day's posts. If you can't handle up to 20 separate shops a day, go to and select the "Daily Digest" option. You can also choose to receive NO member post shops and just read and respond to posts at our website. Select the "Special Notices" option and you will only receive club updates (never more than 3 per month). "Special Notices" is our group's default setting; those choosing "No shop" will be changed to that setting. 2. Make sure you have your Yahoo profile filled out! The one thing members bring up again and again is how they might like to contact a new member, but when they check that person's profile IT'S BLANK! At the very least you should have your name, age, city and marital status. Of course filling out the other fields like Occupation, About Me, Hobbies, Latest News, Favorite Quote increases your chances of making new friends. (A photo doesn't hurt either!) 3. Post your comments and opinions on our daily topics! Because our group is more centered around discussions and not hookups - which is why our Member List is kept private - you'll find people are more eager to meet you if they know how and what you think. Our topics include everything from relationships to shopping. Of course if there's something that happened to you or a friend or something you read in the news you think the group would be interested in, by all means start your OWN topic. Feel free to share news articles and links, however we do not post jokes, poems, stories, etc. We ask any topic you introduce be relevant to our group such as size acceptance or relationships and written in "PG-rated" language. We try to keep any messages posted to the group of interest to the ENTIRE group. Once you have established a connection with someone via the group and wish to address personal comments to or about them, we ask that it NOT be posted to the entire group, but sent directly to that individual via shop. PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU POST! - Because membership is not required to read posts and archives are publicly searchable, do not post anything you would not want the whole world to read! We do not return posted messages from our archives except in the instance where personal information (phone numbers, etc.) may have been inadvertently posted, or a member is in personal danger. We do our best to be diligent about the safety of our members. NOTE: In order to attract more readers to your post, to make it more specific, or to keep the continuity of the thread, we occasionally change the subject line. Also, because our group is so busy, we might group together posts made on the same subject by the same person at the same time. We will never change your post...just compile them for easier reading. 4. Come to our dances! About 6 times a year BBWNorthwest has a fabulous dance for members and their guests. Our big theme bashes take place at the Wild West VFW in Tacoma. Find a schedule of events at ... once members get to know you online, it's much easier to meet in person or even make a date to meet at one of our events.
