Congratulations on your new membership to BBWNorthwest. With over 14,000 members, it's likely your first post will get a LOT of attention and help you make plenty of new friends. And isn't that why you joined? :) Ever hear that joke, "If a tree falls in the woods and no one's there to hear it, does it make a sound?" OK, now you're a BBWNorthwest member. But if you want people to know you're out there, you have to POST! In YOUR FIRST POST, be sure to include the following -- 1) Your first name, age, and city where you live. Ideally these items should ALSO be in your Yahoo profile, as they are the basic things our members check out FIRST before deciding to introduce themselves to anyone new. 2) Your marital status. Again, this should also be in your Yahoo profile. To those members who are single and looking to meet other singles, this information is A MUST! Note that if on your profile you leave this out and you really ARE single, many members will assume you're married. Also note whether you have children. 3) What do you do for a living? What kind of hobbies to you have? Connecting with others who have similar interests is a quick way to make new friends. Do you work in an office, are you an engineer, or maybe a stay-at- home Mom? Is your hobby riding Harleys, collecting Beanie Babies, or writing short stories? SAY SO! Tell us all about you! 4) What are you looking for in our group? Is it just new friends? To better accept your size and build self esteem? Someone for casual dating? A new relationship or marriage? Again, putting this information in your first post will attract the kind of people you want and set the stage for a great experience as a BBWNorthwest member! Not sure what to say in your first post? Take a look through our archives and see what others said about themselves. It will also give you a feel for our group and the type of things we discuss. Remember, the more information you give about yourself in your first post, the more likely you will make new friends quickly. Of course if you have any other questions, just drop us an shop.
