Re: [Ears to Ears] Back from WDW

We had a great two weeks - a week cruising in the Caribbean and then a week at the World! Gloria - we got from Miami to Orlando just fine and did get off the turnpike at Fort Pierce for lunch as you suggested. The only downside to our trip was Magic Kingdom. It was way too crowded - we battled screaming kids, tons of strollers and rude people. It wasn't a fun day. We only did 8 attractions from 10:30 in the morning until we had dinner at 6 (we ate at Liberty Tree Tavern and it was great!), we left the park right after we ate. In the morning we went on the Steam Train Tour from 7:30 to 10:30 and it was incredible! One of the nice perks was being able to take pictures of Main Street and the Castle with nobody around! We got to ride the Lilly Bell to the train barn, then we rode the Walter E. Disney later back into the park, and during the day we got to ride the Roger Broggie (sp?). The Roy O. Disney was in the barn being refurbished so while we got to see it we didn't get to ride it. The other three parks were crowded, but nothing like MK and we were able to do everything we wanted. We were most anxious to ride Expedition Everest as we hadn't been at WDW since it opened. When we got there we immediately got fast passes and then went in the stand-by line which said 20 minutes but was more like 10! We really moved through the queue and it was great to see the backstory as we wound our way around. We aboslutely loved the ride and a little upset that we had to wait a while before our fast passes were good! I wasn't sure if I would like it as much the second time since I knew what was going to happen, but I liked it even better!! We also really enjoyed the Nemo musical - we were really looking forward to seeing it. Somehow we got in line at the very best time because we were seated in the center section a couple of rows up from the aisle above the the stage seating area. Perfect seats as we also found ourselves in the center of the row after we were asked to move over to accommodate the last of the people coming in! We had some great meals and loved every place we ate - Ohana, Liberty Tree Tavern, Coral Reef, San Angel Inn, Boma Cafe, Prime Time Cafe and Le Cellier. The only two counter service places we ate at were Flame Tree BBQ (we ate under cover by the river) and El Pirata y el Perico (finally we were there when it was open! and it was very goof). We were also lucky one afternoon at Epcot - we stopped in at Rose and Crown for a libation around 1:30 or so and there was an empty table in the bar, so we got to have a late lunch, great fun! Our condo at Bonnet Creek was incredible! It didn't take us long to learn our way around the area! We had a great surprise in that we could see the top of Spaceship Earth from our balcony and at night we saw the fireworks from Epcot followed about an hour later by the fireworks from Magic Kingdom!! Awesome! We left Orlando and it was 85, when we landed in Seattle it was 42 - rain mixed with snow! Insane!!!
