Re: Re: Looking for someone to clean, Washington Twp
7bit inline I honestly could never understand the concept of tipping. If someone did something above and beyond what I expect them to do, I might give a bonus but most people only do what is expected of them and still expect a tip. Recently I've seen tip boxes at Jets pizza (even though I was picking up), the car wash for drying off my car (??) and at a party store and gas station. A few years ago I tried to hire some high school boys to do some work around my house. I called the HS and they acted like I was nutso. First they don't even have a job board (duh?) and noone even called back. So I posted a message on craigslist and within an hour I had over 8 people that wanted to do it. All were grown men with family that had jobs but needed a few bucks. I offered 12/hr and it was hard landscaping work. They did a great job and didn't putz around and try to get more out of me. I ended up giving them $15/hr because it was worth it and it was hard work. I had 2 people who were not from this country and I don't think illegally, but not sure respond. They told me it was a day and a half job for 2 guys. It took my 2 guys 4 hours. I have a home and to vacuum, dust , do dishes and wet mop the bathroom floors and clean the bathrooms is only a two hour job IF there is no clutter around which often takes me 2-3 times longer than cleaning. Doing windows and walls are a different story. I would hesitate hiring someone who claims it is an all day long.job. Since I don't do it for a living I would expect someone that does it for a living to work more efficiently and faster than myself.
