Re: Creepy crawly things

"I'm sure you have other wildlife to deal with, though. Coyotes, Once there was a bear that walked through the neighborhood ... but only once in 5 years. We hear coyotes, but never see them. Seen a few deer, elk, foxes, lots of prairie dogs. There are only two critters that upset me, though ... black widows and rattle snakes. Black widows are easily remedied by spraying the perimeter of the house once in-a-while. The snakes come round when the canyon floods. That's when even the men in neighborhood get the heeebie jeeebies! It's kinda funny to watch! Someone spots a rattler and the word goes out to keep the kids out of the green belt for a while. But there again, we're just suburban folk who don't know much about the wild. Truth is, only two people in our whole area have been bitten in the 10 years I've lived in this town. We had to talk to our ds15 about how bugs are normal in Georgia and he shouldn't let them bother him. I tried to sell him on the idea that they are so interesting and different from what he's known that he should take the time to get to look at them and appreciate them. So far, I don't think he's buying in to what a great opportunity he has with bugs! He said I did not warn him that they bite! Oooops! I don't know the Pine Mountain area well, but my bil's family helped establish the town waaaay back. My bil & sil were working in Europe till she got sick, so they returned to his hometown for help from family with their 5 kids. You say you're an hour away? We almost moved to Alpharetta this year, but we are staying put for right now. I guess you are some where between Alpharetta and Pine Mountain?
