All of us operate out of beliefs ("shoulds"), most of them being unconsciously held, and if they are consonant with our they don't pose a problem nor do they generate stress or upset (unless done to excess at which point stress arises). And when there is stress or upset, then that is a fine opportunity to (a) first locate the underlying belief, (b) question it, and (c) find some way to resolve the tension between the belief and what reality is offering up at that time. Going out looking for a mate and/or sex is not wrong or painful for you (in fact, it should be fun!). The only pain is arguing with What Is. So, if you believe you should have a mate or that you should be having sex and that is not true, then you are arguing with What Is and adding suffering on top of your desire for a mate. And when this happens, you lose, but only 100% of the time. Even Katie is married and has a mate and has a sex life. When someone asked her why she, "in her enlightened state" decided to get married again, she replied that "Stephen asked me to marry him and I could not find a reason not to." *****Nah, Steve.
