AABC How things have changed.

I'm working my Step 11 with my sponsor this afternoon. Life is good. Meetings are good. A newbie at my Thursday meeting chatted with me for about 30 minutes after the meeting last night. She's not sure whether she wants to label herself with the "A" word yet, but she wants to involve herself in the program. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," right? Anyway, so we talked. She asked me loads of questions, talked about her own experience, and then asked, if she could wait to get a sponsor till I was through my Step 12 and then ask me to sponsor her. Another jaw on the floor moment later, I was thinking to myself how much my life has turned around=85to the point that a newbie sees that I have what she wants. Wow! I'm so grateful to my HP, my sponsor, and all you beautiful AAs (and AA itself), to be here and not where I was before AA. So now I need some advice. I've spoken to my sponsor about this, and she said that I've got it and that sometimes sponsoring right away is a next logical thing to do. Said she thinks she waited too long to start and would do it differently if she had it to do again. I'm willing to sponsor her...once I'm finished with my own steps for the first time. But I don't want this to be a point of pride or worry for me because that won't help my own sobriety. Eager to read advice on starting sponsoring, particularly things to watch out for (I'm guessing that pride and fear are going to top the list). I'm going to go read "Working With Others" again now and then write and write about it.
