Re: AABC alone in Africa
CATHRINE I KNOW YOU DON'T KNOW ME But as an alcoholic we know each other. I find that many a person man or woman, bum or businessman (woman) doctor lawyers etc all have felt THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND.. the problem is they don't understand the disease. which makes you and I different. when we feel the same as others but yet different on the inside we need to remember YOU AREN'T ALONE. something I did when I forced myself into isolation because no one knew me (because I ran from everything)even after I started to feel recovery working I ran some (so i thought) I turned to mediation books small pocket size books you could hide in a pocket go to the and pull it out and just open it to any page...seems the right message comes when ever we search for it. I find also in my open world that I can do that with any recovery book Big Book included..just mark the first 181 pages and anytime you feel scared alone or different...(fo me that was almost every minute of the day in my early years) but even after 20 years of accumulated one day at a times I still find that 2 things happen I see what is the solution or what else I should be doing instead of worrying about what ever I thing is the matter. It sucks being an alcoholic in a group of other normies (if there be such a thing normal?) the bb tells me alcoholics know a loneliness only another alkie would know.. DARLIN' I can profess YEPPER AND HHHEEE HAAAWW YOU ARE ONE OF US AND YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD ALREADY BUT I'LL TELL YOU AGAIN YOU ARE NOT ALONE..
